Indigenous lessons into movement and flow

I believe our movement, thoughts and ability to interact within a group can be explained and inspired by the concept of Tensegrity. Our physical body, thoughts and interactions are essentially suspended in a sea of tension, the moves we make and what we do or think effects everything around us.

About the Speaker

Shane Benzie is a running coach, movement specialist and author of the best selling The Lost Art Of Running. His work takes him to six continents and to many different environments, often extreme, where he coaches and researches athletes. Shane takes an anthropological view of an athlete, believing that if we move the way we were designed to move we will maximise our potential, however in the name of sport we must take natural human movement and turn it into human performance. Inspired by natural human movement, thought and interaction Shane spends time with tribes and indigenous peoples in these extreme environments to better understand our baselines and how to develop them.
